• ARPG — Art Roleplaying Game. These are communities a of creatives that enjoy participating in a system that involves drawing, writing, or other forms of creative works using their original characters made based off of a pre-existing fictional worldbuild online.

• OC — Original Character. This is a custom made design that belongs to and is made by a user.

• Species — The fictional inhabitants of Planet Xaoc, which are the Xaeco, Xatli, Xopas, and Xulap.

• MYO — Make Your Own. This refers to an item found on Planet Xaoc that functions as an official creation slot. Once an admin approves the usage of this item through design approvals, the user's creations will be officially masterlisted on Planet Xaoc.

• FCFS — First Come First Serve, which means that priority is given to users with the fastest responses when claiming to buy a character design or official creation slot on Planet Xaoc.

• FFA —Free For All. That means a site-held giveaway can be entered by any users of Planet Xaoc's community.

• FTO or NO — First Time Owner or Non-Owner. This means that the user does not currently own any Planet Xaoc character in the masterlist.

• AO — Already Owner. This means that the user does currently owns one or more Planet Xaoc character/s in the masterlist.

• Characters — Designs that have been approved and registered to the Planet Xaoc masterlist.

• Character Link — Establishes a 1:1 relationship between characters, and allows entry of details regarding their relationship to one another.

• Character Transfer — The process of changing a character’s ownership.

• Cooldown — A rule on the Planet Xaoc website that dictates the time left before a character can be transferred again to a new owner.

• Masterlist — A compiled list of all officially approved Planet Xaoc characters.

• Bugs / Glitch — Instances where site features do not work, or function in unintended ways.

• Helpdesk — Forum for general Planet Xaoc inquiries (such as those regarding lore, traits, and onsite guidance), as well as feedback.

• Ticket System — Submission of a help ticket for review by site admins. Used for issues that require admin attention, such as user reports, site errors, or character claims.

• Admin Approval — An official statement from Planet Xaoc admins noting the approval of a character transfer, redesign, sale, or other processes done on the website or official community discord server.

• Admin Customs — Design commissions taken by official Planet Xaoc admins and contributors in exchange for real world currency. This does not require a Make Your Own slot.

• WIP — Work In Progress. It means something is in its unfinished state and the creator is actively contributing when time allows to further its completion.

• Adoptables — Digital character designs that is up for sale by an artist online.

• One-offs —  Character designs that have no relation to Planet Xaoc in anyway, nor any similar website communities that have their own original species and worldbuild.

• Auction —  A type of online adoptable sale that involves increments of monetary bidding among users. Auctions have specified limitations and a timeframe noted by the artist or host.

• OTA — Offer to Adopt. This is a form of selling or trading a character design, whereas the owner or artist notes parameters and preferences they are looking for in the process of wanting to rehome a character design they own.

• Swaps — When a user is seeking offers on their Planet Xaoc character, but only in exchange for Planet Xaoc characters as well.

• FCFS — First Come First Serve, which means that priority is given to users with the fastest responses when claiming to buy a character design or official creation slot on Planet Xaoc.

• NFS or NFT — Not For Sale or Not For Trade. An owner labels their characters with this as a note that the character is not in the nor are they seeking any offers.

• Vouchers — When a user is looking for money offers on a character they own that is locked under trade-only attribute. This means that the owner of the character is seeking  an amount and purpose (that is admin-approved), that an interested buyer or third person is willing to pay for. This payment should not touch the hands of the original character owner, but only directly sent to the admin approved purpose. These purposes must only be in form of a digital art commission, a digital writing commission, or a digital character design up for sale by an artist online. Physical goods are not allowed for vouchers, as we prohibit the exchange of any personally-identifying information among our users during Planet Xaoc transfers and transations.

STORY TERMS

• Universe — A collection of ever expanding pages of space that holds together the living, dead, and everything in-between.

• Reality — In this worldbuild, it refers to a page in the universe where time flows. These pages make-up an entire book of various ways of existence, resulting in a "universe".

• Purgatory — In this worldbuild, it refers to a page in a universe where time does not flow. Beings here have access to observe, manipulate, or transfer other pages' contents (such as timeflow, lifespan, heavenly bodies, etc).

• Deity — Beings at the top of Purgatory's hierarchy, whose desires are exerted onto the universe. Within Purgatory, their will is enacted by their most dedicated servants.

• Mortal — Beings who live among the planets and stars. They are unaware of Purgatory's existence.

• Angels — Beings who form the majority of Purgatory's population and workforce, they presently serve under the authority of Leviathans and commanding Entities.

• Entities — The offspring of Deities, who fall below Leviathans in ranking. Entities contribute to labor through the creation of holy relics, bolstering the efficiency of Purgatory's workforce. 

• Entity of Reality — The Greatest of all Entities, vital to the existing cycle and structure of the universe. Time, space, matter, and emotions are malleable in their hands, and their understanding of the cosmos is unrivaled.

• Leviathans — Exceedingly powerful beings crafted and imbued with the essence of the Deities themselves. They serve as chief administrators within Purgatory's hierarchy.

SPECIES TERMS

• Planet Xaoc — A gargantuan oceanic planet in a far off page from Purgatory. It is only accessible through a semi-invisible blackhole, and serves as the gravesite of the Entity of Reality. It houses most Planet Xaoc species.

• Abstract Energy — A simplified description of the Entity of Reality's raw essence.

• Cosmic Goop or Blood — A simplified description of a Planet Xaoc species' baby form's texture and physical appearance.

• Egg — A simplified term referring to a Planet Xaoc species' baby form.

• Shapeshifter — Beings capable of morphing their physical structure in order to better adapt to a task or environment.

• Base Form — The primary basis for a character, from which all other forms draw design themes. This form is used for a character’s masterlist image.

• Power Form — Alternate forms unique to each species, which provide them with heightened abilities. These include the Parasite Form (Xaeco), Portal Form (Xatli), Active Form (Xopas), and Phantom Form (Xulap).

• Xaeconians — One of the four major species present on Xaoc, with forms resembling alien rabbits. From the Entity of Reality, they have inherited abilities centered around emotions and adjacent concepts (Dreams, Hopes, Desires, and so forth).

• Xatli — One of the four main species present on Xaoc, with a mix of a dragon and avian motif for appearance, as well as wings resembling a poncho. From the Entity of Reality, they have inherited abilities centered around space and long-term spacefaring.

• Xopas — One of the four main species present on Xaoc, with forms consisting of a tough, malleable shell and shapeshifting jelly-like fluid. From the Entity of Reality, they have inherited abilities centered around time, restricted in usage to carry out archival and research tasks.

• Xulap — One of the four main species present on Xaoc, with forms of a fish that could morph into a ghostly being that could affect and phase through a variety of surfaces. From the Entity of Reality, they have inherited abilities centered around physically withstanding the overwhelming complexities of differing planets and dimensions' atmospheres, physical properties, and more.

LOCATIONS

• Royal Hives — A collection of islands providing residential and recreational areas, markets, and training grounds for the inhabitants of Xaoc.

• Rumination Hive — A collection of Cells dedicated to the cultivation and sharing of knowledge, arranged in hexagonal territories within the Royal Hives.

• Verbatim Burrows — A collection of burrows within an endless desert, found within the Royal Hives.

• Mirror Floods — A large collection of accessible bodies of water formed by the lakes, rivers, beaches, and falls of Planet Xaoc.

• Crux Reef — An expansive market found within the Mirror Floods.

• Aptitude Lagoon — A city where Guilds reside and hunt for new talents to join their cause, found within the Mirror Floods.

• Tides of Knowledge — An ancient library that endures in a state of decay, found within the Mirror Floods.

• Mournfell Shards — A collection of islands that have been deemed uninhabitable, far from the Royal Hives. Falling Shards, remnants of the Entity of Reality, have twisted the landscape and the life found within with mutation and decay.

• Windfall Vaults — An entertainment-centric city found within the Mournfell Shards.

• The Instrument — A collection of floating buildings and ex-research facilities that have been connected together by Gears, found within the Mournfell Shards.

• Bewildered Garden — An inescapable labyrinth of plants and organic material, found within the Mournfell Shards

• Awards — Visual assets given to registered website users to signify one's participation in the Art Roleplaying Game's online events.

• Pets — Adopted bestiary purchased on-site with fictional currency.

• Inventory — On-site area where items can be viewed for more information and actions can be performed.
