π SEPTEMBER 2025 SITE NEWSΒ π
π Hello, this is ocularguts again! To start, I have been focusing on optimizing traits entirely, whilst writing lore for each one at a time. My primary focus is making everything more open to interpretation, especially for traits that are similar in function, or popular within the community. I am trying to minimize the list in order to smoothen out the design approval procedures both user-side and admin-side!

π In my process of optimizing traits, I have also been monitoring the site's overall health and figuring out ways to cleanup areas. In order to preserve space (especially I had noticed my abundance of 2017s art on Xaeco pages that are clogging up load time oh geez...) -- redesigning characters with Old Gen or Illegal traits will permanently void its basis legacy image from the masterlist upon final approval from here on out! As this should no longer be used as a basis for future owners or redesigns. ( While these oldgen/illegal traited legacy images are unavailable in the website's official database, I (ocularguts) do keep a local copy just in case, HOWEVER, it is upto the owner to archive these images if wanting to do so moving forward. This helps a ton with loading speed especially that this website has grown immensely in filesize [and continuously so] over the years! Β )

π Coding wise, the traits page will temporarily be in its ugly baby stage for a month or two, sorry! ;_; I am moving data around so you might see assets from 2020s era into the trait cards + painted thumbnails overtime, and I will try my best to continue beautifying wherever I can.

π That said, I will temporarily close the Redesigns queue as well! They will likely re-open in a few weeks, but new MYO designs will still be closed while we work on a new traits viewing code.

π All downgrades are COMPLETELY COMPENSATED where necessary! You get blank/free traits listed in your character's masterlist STATS tab. These can be used once redesigns open again, AND convertible to currency or items once the ARPG is ready.

π WORK IN PROGRESS TRAITSΒ π
Geometric ---> Allows your character to freely transform into a literal simplified shape or polygon (2D or 3D). Allowed to be used for ARPG prompts.
Mimicry ---> Allows a body part of your character to temporarily mimic a visual (for object heads, weapon limbs, etc.)
Tube ---> Finshape for Xulap.
Mirror ---> Self duplication skill.
Xulap Mouths renamed to -----> Fissures.Β
(Unsure Rarity) Crowded Scene Plans? ---> Currently available in/move to Multitude, but deciding whether to discontinue or add onto a different trait in the future.
(Unsure Rarity) A trait to allow the character to freely transform into other beings (humanoid form, earth fauna, etc).
(Unsure Rarity) A trait that allows for the character to shed some part of themselves to be reborn into tiny minions/companions.

Shimmer -----> Updated definition: now allows glowing + all former marking effects.

Flora Scene rarity is moved (formerly Common).

Flora Pulp is now discontinued, Xopas's jelly can freely have plant and flora silhoettes without the trait.
Multitude <----- Now encompasses all multi-limb traits: Multiple Ears + Tails + Horns + Crowded Limbs + Crowded Scene + Hydra + Fracture-esque stuff in the future.
Critterfect <----- Now encompasses all fauna-inspired aspects from varying rarities: Feelers, Horns, Basilisk, Chassis Mimicry, Spikes, and Odd Feet.
Fluffy + Feathered Wings traits for Xatli now merged/renamed to -----> Textured Wings.
Strato + Aerial scene traits for Xatli now merged with -----> Cosmic Scene.
Absent Ears + Horns + Furvest + Tail + No Eyes now merged into -----> Absence.

π£ SACRED / SKILL UPDATES π£
Crowded Scene has been discontinued, temporarily moved to (Mystical Multitude) but may come back in a different trait or name is used for something else.
Crowded Wings renamed to Flight + allowance for Xopas's pulp body.
Rogue Scene rarity is moved to Sacred (formerly Anomaly).

π΄ ANOMALY UPDATES π΄
Morph <----- formerly known as Collide (still the same definition: allows multiple variants and palette changes).
Collide ---> is now a big work in progress! Maybe the allowance of a character to morph into other species or designed with partial inspiration of other species besides their own? Not sure yet, needs careful planning in order to make sure it does not overconvolute masterlist categories and rarities.
Infinitum (formerly Xaoc Infinitum) ---> is now a big work in progress! Those with this trait is compensated, then given the (Rare) Shimmer trait, which now allows glowing anywhere on the body.

π FINAL NOTESΒ π
π As a reminder, all trait adjusments are properly compensated wherever applicable! Meaning, if you had multiple traits (higher than the Common rarity) that got combined into something else, discontinued, etc - you still have it as a blank, now listed on your masterlisted character's STATS tab. In the future, these can also be turned in for currency or items when the ARPG opens.

π Feel free to send a Help Ticket anytime if you think a mistake is made, such as:
- There are "Unused #" trait labels / coding remnants on your character masterlist.
- You got under or over the amount of trait compensation needed.
- You are missing a trait or given the wrong trait.

π Thank you for the continued support and patience in the meantime! I still have to go through past trait suggestions too for sure. Anyhow, moving forward, my continued area of focus will be:
- LORE UPDATE FOR OCTOBER!! I am very excited for this. :-]
- Setting up a basic text-only version of the finalized traits in a week or two, in order to re-open the Redesign queue, maybe even earlier re-opening for the MYO queue? Unsure yet.
- Either for November/December - more notes about other forms of badges that I mentioned back in August + an allowance for masterlist entries to do unique thumbnails and coverart.
- Continue development for necessary parts (interactive traits page, the dupe codes in some places, convenience buttons, etc.)
